GCC encourages and atmosphere of “liberated praise & worship” (II Corinthians 3:17). By this we mean an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit is free to operate and manifest Himself as He desires and an atmosphere in which the people are free to respond to the Holy Spirit in an uninhibited praise & worship, making a “joyful noise unto the Lord” (Psalms 100:1). We do not “quench the Holy Spirit” (1I Thessalonians 5:19), but allow him to have full reign of our worship services. Therefore, one may see clapping, dancing, shouting, uplifted hands prophecy, tongues and interpretation in our services. Yet we encourage balance so that “all things be done in decency and in order” I Corinthians 14:40). It is requested that one who may have a “word” for the church, or interpretation, get the attention of the Pastor (or the one who is presiding over the service) to get his or her permission or acknowledgement before proceeding to give a word of prophecy or interpretation.
The importance of prayer, both personal and corporate, will be emphasized in every area of ministry with numerous opportunities made available for corporate prayer and greater understanding of prayer such as: Christian education classes, special prayer groups, pastor prayer partners, specific prayer days, prayer conferences/training, leadership prayer times, prayer in conjunction with ongoing ministries, etc.
We are committed to developing a church-wide prayer focus, strategy, and organization utilizing a range of ideas, opportunities, and ministries for meaningful, powerful, and passionate prayer that helps each one to know God more intimately and give Him the worship due Him. (Jeremiah 9:23, 24; Matthew 6:5-15; Luke 11:1ff; James 5:16; Acts 2:42)
It is our anticipation and full expectancy that by the conclusion of our services, one will leave delivered from any bondage or oppression that one may have come with. This may include deliverance from sickness, diseases, depression or any negative physical, emotional or spiritual dilemma that one may be experiencing. Therefore, we provide opportunities for one to receive prayer for any situation or condition during our services. One may often see “gifts of the Spirit” being manifested during our services, such as “the word of knowledge,” “word of wisdom” or the “gift of prophecy” to bring deliverance and minister to those present in our services.
We fully believe, preach and teach that our God is bigger than our circumstances, situations, sicknesses or diseases. By exercising our faith in His Word, we can see the manifestation of God’s supernatural power in our lives (Mark 11:22-24). The sermons that are preached and the lessons that are taught have the underlying common thread of “faith” toward God in anticipation that your faith in God and His promises will be increased. As your faith in God and His Word increases, we believe that you will be able to live a victorious life and overcome every obstacle or snare the enemy.
GCC is a ministry encourages people to engage the people that God puts in our paths, with the gospel, with the main areas being in work, with family, or through other interests. Other opportunities range from serving the homeless, to volunteering at children's homes, to helping women out at our community's pregnancy center. Our chief goal is to show the redemptive love of Christ to our broken and fallen world, through meeting the needs of people around us. By doing this we live out the message of Jesus in that we should "be in the world, but not of it." Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-2
