Grace Christian Church is a non-denominational, Bible-believing, Bible teaching Christian church. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the written, inspired Word of God. We believe in one God who created all things and is revealed in the persons of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe the God came to Earth in the flesh person of his son, Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin, lived and walked the Earth, healing all manner of sickness and disease, and destroying the works of the devil.
We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross, died of our sins, and was raised bodily on the third day in fulfillment of the scriptures. We believe that He then ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God making intercession for us and the He is the only Mediator between God and mankind. We believe that Jesus Christ will return again to resurrect the dead in Christ and rapture those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior to live with him eternally.
We further believe in… Water Baptismby immersion in water as instructed by our Lord Jesus Christ as a symbol of identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Water Baptism is “an outward sign of an inward work.” Therefore, one should be baptized after one has confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For the purpose of promoting unity in the body and not getting caught up in disputes or debates about baptism, we baptize in the name of “the Father, Son and holy Ghost in Jesus’ name.” (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-38; Roman 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12; Colossians 3:17) Baptism in the Holy Spirit, often referred to as “being filled with the Holy Spirit Ghost,” or “Spirit Baptism”, is a promise from God which is available to all Christians subsequent to their confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior their new birth.
This experience is evidenced by speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit give utterance. Speaking in tongues is an initial evidence (but not the only evidence) of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling of a Christian. One does not have to “tarry” for the Holy Spirit as the early disciples did in Jerusalem because the Holy Spirit is now to take up residence in them. The Holy Spirit will also enable the believer to pray in a new (heavenly) prayer language. (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 2:38-39, 10:44-47, 19:1-7; I Corinthians 1:7, 14:2-4, 14-15; I Corinthians 2:6) Divine Healing and Miracles: We believe that God still heals naturally but also supernaturally.
Therefore, we neither condemn nor discourage the practice of medicine by medical professionals or their use by Christians. However, we also believe that manifestations of healing can also come supernaturally by the power of God through the prayer of faith and/or by the laying on of hands. Divine healing by the power of God was provided by Jesus Christ in His death and atonement on the cross. God still works miracles and you don’t have to stay sick. (Mark 16:18; James 5:14, 15; Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53: 4-5)
